It can be a hassle ensuring that you have all the documents and information you need while traveling. You may not always need to take your laptop with you either. Let your Mac laptop work for you while you aren't home by using the Personal Web Sharing feature to have access to select files and data. You can even make data available for co-workers to access when they are on the road. It's a great way to keep everyone current with the same information - no matter where they are located.

Here's How:
- From the Apple menu select System Preferences.
- Click on Sharing which is found in Services.
- A list of available options will be visible - select Personal Web Sharing and click Start.
- Make note of the address at the bottom of the screen - it will be your IP address followed by your short computer name. It will look something like this http://123.456.0.123/~yourshortname/
- Close System Preferences.
- Next go to Finder and select Go > Home.
- Find the Sites folder. If you have not created your own web site you can amend the index.html file to list and link to information that you want to share or have access to while on the road.
- Using any other Mac or PC-based machine connected to the Internet, enter the address you made note of earlier. Now you can access the information you prepared while you are on the road.

- The Mac which has been set up with Personal Web Sharing must be turned on and connected to the Internet.
