Guide Review - Fujitsu T4215 ConvertibleTablet PC
I really like the idea of convertible Tablet PCs as I like the option of using in notebook mode or Tablet mode when there is a lot of information I need to enter using the stylus. The Fujitsu T4215 I reviewed was comfortable and the widescreen display made viewing web sites, movies or working with documents quite easy. There is also the option to get an indoor/outdoor viewable display.
The biggest downside to Tablet PCs this size is of course the keyboard can be awkward for anyone with large hands. I have small hands and find that the keyboard is just right for me and much more comfortable when working on it for long periods of time. Most people though won't be purchasing a convertible Tablet PC to only use the keyboard, so this may not even be bothersome.
The stylus included with the T4215 is not one of those skinny, flexible stylus that you sometimes run across. This one is designed more like a thick pen and I find that very comfortable and easy to use. I do have to work at improving using the buttons on the stylus, as I was sometimes surprised by what I had ended up with while working on a document.
The T4215 is just the right weight to use on your lap or hold in your arm for working. I did not find a noticeable difference in weight with the optical drive in or out. So you don't have to worry about removing the optical drive each time you go on a trip.
Battery life is about normal for a Tablet PC, of course the more you use the optical drive and/or Wi-Fi the more battery power you will use. The T4215 does offer the option of a modular bay battery which can improve battery operation time to about 10 hours. If you know you won't need your optical drive or have an external optical drive, get the modular bay battery for the added operating time you'll get.
The T4215 will definitely make work easier no matter where you are.
