Description
Guide Review - Plustek OpticFilm 7500i SEI had the opportunity to use and review the Plustek OpticFilm 7500i SE film scanner and I was quite pleased with how it operates and the results it produced. When you unpack the OpticFilm 7500i SE film scanner be careful with the packaging as they are rather creative with where the power adapter box is located - in the foam supports for the scanner. I did experience a moment of oh no, but then when going back through the packaging noticed that the foam was marked with a sticker to indicate the power adapter was inside the shape. Setting up the OpticFilm 7500i SE film scanner involves the usual driver installation and connecting to your laptop - do read the User Guide instructions as always before you begin. You do need to install the software programs first unless you already have a graphics program. If you want to get the most from the Plustek OpticFilm 7500i SE film scanner I do recommend installing the SilverFast 6.5 SEPlus software and taking time to learn how to use it. When placing the film holders into the scanner, don't be surprised if your initial scans aren't quite the image you expected. I found that to get the slides or negatives lined up squarely for each scan you have to listen while sliding the film holder through the scanner. You will hear a slight click sound as the film holder lines up. You can insert the film holders from either side, so the OpticFilm 7500i SE can be placed where it is most convenient for you. If you require additional film holders they are available and I would recommend getting additional ones so that you can load up a few at a time to make your scanning go quicker. It is a nice feature that Plustek include a carrying bag designed for the OpticFilm 7500i SE and its accessories. The bag is well constructed and comfortable to carry. The Plustek OpticFilm 7500i SE is a great film scanning solution. |
