Definition: PDA means personal digital assistant. These mobile devices combine organizing and connectivity technologies in a small package. You can send emails, faxes and even make phone calls with some PDA's.<br> PDA's also contain software to organize your schedule and contacts.<br>Some PDA's allow you to enter information using a stylus, while others are keypad only entry.<br> Newer PDA's have voice recognition software so that you can tell your PDA what to save or what function to do.
Also Known As: palmtops hand-held computers electronic organizers
Examples: I received my first PDA in 1993 and it replaced my paper-based calendar and address book.
