NiCad Battery

From Catherine Roseberry, for About.com

Definition: These are nickel cadmium batteries which are used in older laptops. They are rechargeable but must be completely discharged before being recharged. These batteries can "forget" that they are fully charged and give incorrect information as to their charge status.
Also Known As: ni-cad batteries
Examples: My old IBM ThinkPad uses a NI-CD battery.
