Definition: A wireless access point (802.11a or b) which covers a specific geographic boundary. It is usually set up for Internet access and people with wireless connectivity can access the Internet. Access can be free or for fee. Hot spots can be located just about anywhere including: train stations, airports, coffee shops, hotels, convention centers and other public places.
