Once again, it's crazy holiday gift-buying season and the promotions are aplenty. If you want to stay sane and still score the best deals this season, checkout these useful mobile apps for the biggest two days of the shopping season: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. (Image: TGI Cyber Monday)
dealnews Black Friday: (free, iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Android) I mentioned dealnews previously as one of the best mobile shopping apps, and the money-saving site also has a dedicated app for iOS and Android just for Black Friday. It's a convenient way to browse so-called leaked Black Friday ads, add items to your shopping list, purchase on the retailer's website (if possible), and find the nearest store. Even if you don't shop on Black Friday, the app will still deliver recommended deals--which might be at least as good as those you'll find in store on Black Friday.
TapSave: (free, iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Android) TapSave is a highly rated mobile deals app, not just for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but for great deals at any time. You can buy an item directly within the app, filter by brands, and access coupons as well.
TGI Cyber Monday: (free, iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Android) The first app out of the gate for Cyber Monday, TGI Cyber Monday promises to show you over 500,000 deals and offers from over 100 retailers in advance of this huge online shopping event.
Besides these mobile apps, if you want to get in on hot deals that are expiring soon (especially when shopping online during Cyber Monday), consider adding the apps for individual retailers you shop at frequently. For example, Amazon's mobile apps can keep you up to date on Gold Box Deals and also check prices in-store.
Follow your favorite retailers on Twitter and keep an eye out on deal-hunting sites like dealnews, SlickDeals, and RetailMeNot for more options. Also check back here later this week and through the holiday season for some top picks in mobile gadgets and apps.
