I go through a lot of batteries and remembering the charger is not usually high on my priority list. If I have the USBCELL batteries, I can always keep them charged with my laptop. Any functioning USB port can be used to charge and top up the batteries. Currently only available in the UK but I believe they should be available in North America soon.
This product isn't available until November 2006 but can be pre-ordered now. It serves a variety of purposes and can be used as a handsfree car kit, mobile conference phone, bluetooth headset or VoIP speakerphone. You don't need to pack and carry a variety of gadgets. To use with a laptop - connect via USB or Bluetooth and your set for using most VoIP applications. It has an integrated wireless headset and speakerphone.
Cozi Central is an online program that helps us maintain balance with our families and work. From any computer you can view schedules, create and update shopping lists and send messages to each other. It is free right now. Some of the features I like is that it can be installed on multiple computers and accessed via the Internet. So no matter where someone is, they can stay on top of family plans.
Tired of handing out a variety of phone numbers so people can stay in touch with you? With GrandCentral you can select a phone number and be able to answer calls from any phone. This is a unified communication service that has a free service and a subscription based service which is currently $14.99/month USD. The features in the free version are quite robust and should suit most mobile workers' needs.
Jajah is a web based calling system that lets you call landline to landline or landline to mobile or the reverse. It does not require a broadband connection or special headset. You will need to register and the person you are calling should also be registered. Within the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Taiwan have free global calling.
TotalView is an new conference device. It enables conferences to combine audio, video and data collaboration. It has a low-profile camera phone and provides 360 degree view of a conference area. The TotalView device will work with other, older videoconference devices which makes it easy to connect with co-workers and customers. Up to 16 split screens can be viewed at one time.
thinkfree is an online system for creating, viewing and editing MS Office and compatible documents. thinkfree has available the following programs: Thinkfree Write, Calc or Show. Now you don't have to worry about having all your files on your hard drive, on a CD, portable storage device or emailing large attachments. 1GB of online storage is provided free and there is the capability to set privileges on documents.
Do you wish your cell phone could do more or want a smart phone but can't really justify the expense? flurry is an email application for cell phones. You do need to have an Internet Data plan from your cell phone service provider in order to use this program. At this time this program is free but there will be a premium version released in the future. The creators are honest that at some point the free version could become advertised supported in order to keep it free.
Koral Content Collaboration is another online collaboration program. With this service documents can be stored, shared and searched. It allows people the ability to subscribe to particular authors or topics. As a subscriber you will be notified when new material is posted by an author or material has been updated. The program will also help authors classify documents and content will be automatically indexed. Koral Content Collaboration is free to sign up with right now.
