The Bottom Line

TeleNav Navigator GPS works on a Smartphone device and can help mobile professionals with directions to new locations and find services such as Wi-Fi locations or other businesses while on their way.

Overall, it’s handy to have on a Smartphone device and provides accurate directions. You should be aware though that if you are in an area with spotty or no cell phone service you will not be able to use TeleNav Navigator GPS. It does requires a cell signal to work.

Guide Review - TeleNav Navigator GPS

I received the BlackBerry 8830 to review TeleNav Navigator GPS. I was unable to download the application through the service provider but was provider a link to download the program direct from TeleNav.

Downloading and installing TeleNav Navigator GPS was quick. It didn’t take any time at all and I was able to access the program right away. It first asks if you want it to identify your current location. This is necessary in order to determine routes to destinations. If happen to be in a different location it is quite easy to change the location you want to use as your start point.

The first locations I mapped were places I was already familiar with and I wanted to see how accurate TeleNav GPS was. The two locations I tried first were both spot on for accuracy. The one location was somewhere I’d traveled in the past month prior to reviewing TeleNav Navigator GPS and it would have been very handy to have had this application available. It provides the side of the street where the destination location is which is very useful especially when address numbers aren’t easily visible.

The step-by-step directions are very useful. I do wish that they would run through them with brief pauses between each step rather than having to manually select each step to listen to the directions. While driving it would be beneficial to have those steps run through without requiring handling the device itself. If you have a passenger they can handle that aspect.

I did have a couple businesses that are located in my city but did not come up when I searched by name, rather the location for the same company but in a different city was displayed. Using the location address did create the correct directions.

TeleNav Navigator GPS would be quite useful for mobile professionals who travel frequently to new locations and require easy to follow directions.
