Overview:
ContactOffice is an online suite of applications provides you with both free and paid options. The biggest and most important limitation with thw the free service is that you cannot share any data with others.
An interesting feature of the ContactOffice is that in addition to the web interface that is available (which makes it possible to access your data from any location and any computer), the company has also developed an interface which works with PDA or smartphone browsers. In addition, there is also a WAP interface for your WAP enabled phone.
Security:
ContactOffice provides several layers of security to help protect your data. The security begins with the use of a secured web site which can only be accessed by use of a user-id and password. If you aren't using the applications you will be automatically logged off - you set the number of minutes to close when there is no activity. The cookies used for the application are temporary and deleted when you end your session. You don't need to go in and delete the cookies if using a computer other than your own. The data is encrypted while transferring between the applications and your computer.
The next level of security is that you set the rights for access to the data. You control who can View, Add or Delete within the applications.
The servers themselves which host the applications are well protected and set up to ensure that there is minimal downtime if ever and the servers are in a secure location as well.
The last line of defence is that ContactOffice do daily backups and these backups are spread across a number of servers.
Free Service:
The biggest and most important limitation with thw the free service is that you cannot share any data with others. If you are just seeking an online application for storage of your own data this would be a useful program.

Premium Service:
Pricing for the premium services in the Group category begin at 5 EUR/month for the Light application package and go up to 50EUR/month for the Hyper package.
You must contact the company to get pricing on the Customized and Education versions as they base the price on number of users, capacities, what type of hosting - you can have it live on your servers or theirs.
In order to have the ability to share any data you will need one of the paid versions. There are options which include Group that allows from 2 to 20 users, a Customized version that is for 20 to 1000 users and then an Education version for more than 1000 users.
