Guide Review - Seagate 5GB Pocket Hard Drive

The Seagate Pocket Hard Drive I received for review was the 5GB model. The timing of its arrival could not have been better. I was faced with replacing a motherboard and saving files from a failing hard drive. The Pocket Drive enabled me to install drivers for the new motherboard which was not recognizing my optical drives. It also provided enough capacity to save my files.

The Pocket Hard Drive was recognized by my system and it was easy to install the drivers and have up and running in a matter of minutes.

The Seagate Pocket Hard Drive has a bright blue LED indicator, which lets you know when it’s transferring/saving files and when it’s safe to remove from your computer.

An added feature which adds to the value for mobile professionals who use a Windows OS is the ability to password-protect information. If by chance you did lose your Pocket Hard Drive it would prove frustrating for someone to attempt to access your data. I would advise any mobile professionals to always use this feature when saving their data to the Pocket Hard Drive.

The Pocket Hard Drive is a very sturdy unit and the USB cable coils around the drive and rotates to keep the cable from being exposed. It clicks in place when turned all the way so that you know the cable is secure.

The Pocket Hard Drive has raised rubber edges on the bottom which help keep it in place and prevents slipping, no matter what kind of surface you might place it on.
