Guide Review - iamaKey Portable Flash Drive
The iamaKey is exactly that – a key shaped USB flash drive. I received one for review and found that it is very durable and the fact that I can use it with both my Windows-based computers and MacBook has made it very beneficial.The iamaKey flash drive is constructed of a very durable metal and looks very much like a regular key. Granted it doesn't have teeth but someone would have to look at it closely to notice that. I have carried mine on my keychain and while I am still a little concerned that the end cap may come off; I’ve been very pleased with how sturdy iamaKey is.
The end cap is the only real concern I have with this flash drive. It is made from clear plastic and just slips over the end of the drive. There are two small indentations on the drive itself to hold the end cap in place but I do worry that over time the end cap will wear down and not stay on so securely. I would have preferred to have an end cap that swiveled out of the way.
Aside from the end cap, there are no other issues I can find with this portable flash drive. LaCie has taken the idea of portable storage and gone with a design that would work for anyone especially mobile professionals. We always have keys of some sort that we need to take with us and being able to clip our storage with the rest of our keys is a smart idea.
Available in both 4GB and 8GB capacities, there should be no problem with being able to store your data and having it readily available. You don't need additional software either which is a nice bonus.
Portable storage that is discretely designed and can be easily carried is another way to help keep data safe while traveling and can provide some additional peace of mind for mobile professionals.
