The Bottom Line

The Samsung SPH-m620 UpStage Rock and Talk cell phone is an interestingly designed cell phone. For some mobile professionals the m620 may not provide you with the right tools to stay well connected while traveling but for those who want a little more fun while working, the m620 will fill that need.
It is a very compact phone and even in the battery case can easily fit into a pocket when not in use.

Guide Review - Samsung SPH-m620 UpStage Rock and Talk Cell Phone

The Samsung m620 does provide an onscreen tutorial to help you learn more about the functions the phone and MP3 player has. This tutorial and the included User Guide are very useful to learn how to use all the functions available. I strongly recommend reading through the User Guide even before you turn on the m620 for the first time.

Sound quality through the Bell network was fair. There was a slight “echo” quality to the sound on my end. The sound even with the earbud headphones in is slightly lower than what I’m used to with my own phone, so be aware if there are loud background noises you could have difficulty hearing the person you are speaking to.

Using the phone side of the m620 you send/receive calls, send/receive text messages and view your contact list. There is a FLIP key on the side of the phone to go from MP3 player side to phone side when a call has been received while you are listening to music.

I did find that the battery life left something to be desired. Be sure that you pack the travel charger with you and have the appropriate adapter available to charge your phone in any location.

The camera and video recorder take decent quality images/video but be sure you are holding the phone very still to avoid blurring.

Music can be downloaded using Bluetooth from your computer or downloaded from the Internet.

The m620 is a sleek looking phone but for those looking for a cell phone with more tools suited to mobile work then this may not be the best solution.
