Guide Review - HTC 6800 Smartphone
The HTC 6800 I reviewed was the Bell Canada model and runs on their high speed mobile network.
The display is very bright and it is easy to read the menus. The stylus which was very comfortable for me, may feel very awkward for those with larger hands. If you really don't want to use the stylus to enter information, then you can slide open the keypad and use it instead. The display automatically re-orients itself which is very handy. The keypad on the HTC 6800 worked nicely. It didn't feel soft and at the same time you didn't need to exert a lot of force on the keys either.
Sound quality was good, there was no background echo and making calls can be accomplished using the voice dial feature or entering the phone number manually.
The included Microsoft® Mobile Office provides the tools needed to create, edit and view documents. You can also take advantage of Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Hotmail to stay in touch with co-workers and clients.
Keeping data synchronized between your computer and the HTC 6800 is accomplished using the USB cradle, USB cable, Infrared or Bluetooth.
Another very useful feature is the HTC 6800 can be used a modem for your laptop when you need more space to work with. The User Guide which is included on the CD provides clear and easy to follow instructions for setting up your HTC 6800 as a USB or Bluetooth modem.
The 2 mega-pixel camera is handy for taking photos for work and the quality is good. The zoom option is not available at the highest resolution though. Images and video can be saved as .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .avi, .wmv, .mp4, .3gp and .3g2.
Overall, the HTC is a good option if you want to carry just one device and have phone and PDA functionality.
