Guide Review - AMREL Rocky Patriot DA4-M
The AMREL Rocky Patriot DA4-M is a new rugged PDA which offers mobile workers another option who work in conditions that demand a sturdy and secure mobile device.
Mobile workers don't need to be in the military to appreciate the features this rugged PDA provides. The external ports available allow you to connect to just about any other mobile gadget; whether a printer or scanner. It's also lightweight and won't mean added bulk to carry.
The Rocky Patriot DA4-M has been certified for altitude, high/low temperature, humidity, salt fog, vibration and shock ensuring that you won't have to worry about extreme environments harming it. It is also water and dust resistant which is beneficial.
There are a variety of options for the Rocky Patriot DA4-M which increases it's usefulness and operating time. Internal card options include: Wi-Fi, GPRS, Bluetooth and GPS. There are also external card options including: SD memory card, CF memory card (using a PCMCIA-to-CF adapter) and digital camera.
Extra batteries are available and can be swapped on the fly since there is an internal battery which protects data during battery swapping.
Another option available is a cradle port which has additional USB ports and a slot for charging a spare battery. The cradle alone weighs 470g(1lb) which is still compact enough to pack in a carrying case.
The spare batteries that are available are identical to the primary battery and directly replaceable.
