Guide Review - Targus DEFCON CL Notebook Computer Cable Lock

I like that security cables such as the Targus DEFCON Combo Lock are lightweight, easy to use and help protect laptops. All mobile professionals should have a notebook security cable and the Targus DEFCON Combo Lock is a great one to have.

Before you head out on the road you will have to re-set the combination on the Targus DEFCON Combo Lock. You'll need a flat-head screwdriver to do this. It doesn't take much time at all and will help ensure the safety and security of your laptop.

The Targus DEFCON Combo Lock can't be forced open - only the proper combination will enable the locking button to release.

The Targus DEFCON Combo Lock includes SecureSpacers which are used to take up the slack between the lock and your laptop. These make it easy to have the best fit and security for your laptop. There are three different sizes of SecureSpacers and you have to know which is the proper fit before removing the adhesive strips on them.

You can't ask for an easier to use and portable security device for your laptop. Remember to always lock your notebook to something that is too hard to move and can't be cut away to access the laptop.

Gives only false feeling of security. Combination can easily be decoded with piece of thin plastic, a metal slice from a beer can etc. Decoding takes ~30 seconds and lock can be opened without trace. If you have a pocket knife, a small swift cut reveals combination right away.
