The Panasonic ToughBook W4 is a full featured ultra portable semi rugged laptop. Even with the internal optical drive it weighs just 2.8lbs. Designed for mobile professionals this laptop is not meant to be used for entertainment but for work. The display has an anti-glare film to improve visibility. It also provides very good battery life when compared to other laptops in this class.

The design of the Panasonic ToughBook W4 differs from other ultra portable laptops in the placement of the optical drive. It is not mounted on the outside edges of the casing but has been placed on the top surface on the right side.
The complete connectivity options are another great advantage to this laptop. You aren't limited to wireless only connections but can take advantage of dial-up or Ethernet connections as well.
What Does a Semi Rugged Laptop Offer:
A semi rugged laptop has a shock-mounted hard drive and full magnesium alloy case for increased durability and protection of your laptop. A shock-mounted hard drive protects the hard drive from vibrations and shocks while traveling. The magnesium alloy casing is an incredibly durable material which protects your laptop and data more than ABS plastic ever could. Semi rugged laptops are much lighter in comparison to a fully rugged laptop.
