Guide Review - Lenovo ThinkPad Z60T

The Lenovo Z60T I reviewed didn’t take long to get up and running. This included time to register two fingerprints with the biometric fingerprint reader. You have a choice with the security program to register fingerprints or use a password for the laptop to start. This makes it easy to protect to your data. I find that the biometric fingerprint reader is a great security option for mobile professionals.

The display on the Z60T was very bright and crisp, for both viewing web sites and documents. In low light conditions the keyboard is illuminated but not enough to distract from the clarity of the display.

The battery life was not as great as some other laptops, especially when using Wi-Fi and running one or more applications at the same time. I found the battery lost power rather quickly and I got less than 3 hours of operating time. I would recommend having an extra battery available or ensuring that you have access to AC power to keep your battery charged.

One of the more interesting options available with the Z60T is that you can have it configured for access to the Verizon Wireless Broadband Access network. This inclusion of broadband access makes it a great choice for mobile professionals who travel throughout the United States and don’t want to have to try tracking down hot spots for Internet access.

Overall this is a great ultra portable laptop for mobile professionals who want a high quality display, security and connectivity options.
