I've always used backpacks for books, then my mobile gear but wanted to something a little more ladylike for when I'm attending meetings or conferences. A ladies' style tote is more professional looking.
The Madison Tote I reviewed was the black and white styled tote. The fabric is a tightly woven fabric and the tote has black araya leather trimming. The Madison Tote will easily fit laptops with up to 15" displays. The laptop compartment has an extra long zipper, which makes it easy to put your laptop in and take it out. You don't need to fight the tote to get your laptop in and out.
I had no problems with room for my mobile accessories and other items I need to carry on a regular basis. It made it easy not having to worry about carrying the laptop tote and a purse at the same time. I really like the positioning of the cell phone pouch in the accessory side of the tote. It made it easy to reach my cell phone while walking and kept it securely in place so I wasn't digging around for it.
The shoulder straps impressed me the most, which is something women will understand. The greatest looking laptop tote won't be any use if the straps are uncomfortable or slide off your shoulder while walking. The length of the straps help keep the tote balanced and even with the laptop fully loaded, I didn't get a sore shoulder.
