Guide Review - SanDisk USB 2.0 12-in-1 Card Reader/Writer
One of the strongest points for me to get the USB 2.0 12-in-1 Memory Card Reader/Writer was it was compatible with Mac and PC. I work with both systems and it was tiresome trying to transfer files back and forth. Normally I'd have to dowload files to my laptop then transfer to a USB Flash drive and then work on my other machine.
The USB 2.0 12-in-1 Memory Card Reader/Writer can be dtached from it's dock and includes a short cable to connect the reader/writer to an available USB port. This short cable is just 10.5" long and what would be more useful would be twice that length. The cable that connects the dock to your laptop or desktop could also be a few inches longer. The dock does have a small footprint and would be easy enough to pack and travel with.
If you run any of the most recent operating systems (Mac OS X, Windows XP or Vista) you only have to attach the appropriate cable to the reader/writer and then connect to an open USB port. You can then move files around as you need. When you first connect to a laptop using VIsta, you will see that Vista installs some drivers for the reader/writer.
The USB 2.0 12-in-1 Memory Card Reader/Writer shows up on Windows systems as four additonal drives and on the Memory Card Reader/Writer itself each slot is labelled so that you know which memory card goes in each slot.
I have read some comments online that people have had difficutlies using high capacity (4GB or higher) memory cards. As I don't have any of my own to try, I'm not sure how widespread this issue is.
With the he USB 2.0 12-in-1 Memory Card Reader/Writer you can also transfer files between different memory cards and you don't have to save them to your hard drive first and then transfer them. Since the USB 2.0 12-in-1 Memory Card Reader/Writer can handle a variety of memory card types you should have no problems with sharing any data.
