The Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse has been designed for use by mobile professionals and this is demonstrated with the use of the all-terrain optical engine. This enables you to use the mouse on any surface - metal, plastic, hard or soft materials.
I found the V500 very comfortable to use, using both my left or right hand. This cordless mouse is very solid feeling and the only adapting required is in the use of the scroll panel. This scroll panel allows you to scroll in any direction, which is very handy when working in documents such as databases and spreadsheets. I found using the scroll panel was very similar to using the scroll pad on a laptop.
An interesting advantage the V500 cordless mouse offers is the ability to use the mouse from a 30 foot (10m) range - this can be very useful when you are doing a presentation. You don't have to stand right up near your laptop which increases the ability for others to view the presentation. When using from a distance, the signal stayed strong and I had no problems controlling laptop functions.
For many mobile professionals, the problem with cordless mice is keeping track of the wireless adapter. With the v500 cordless mouse, you can store the wireless adapter right in the mouse when not in use. Simply slide the release on the bottom of the mouse to release the opening and slide the adapter in - remember to give it a gentle push to lock into position.
