The Bottom Line

At first glance this mouse seems large and somewhat awkward looking. Once you have it set-up and spend just a few minutes using it, you realize that this mouse is well suited to mobile professionals and working with a laptop - especially in cramped spaces. The IOGear 5 Button USB Laser 1600 Mouse is a well designed mouse which makes it easier to use your laptop and helps you work more ergnomically anyhere you happen to be. This is definitely a case of not judging a book by its cover.

Guide Review - IOGear 5 Button USB Laser 1600 Mouse

I was initially uncertain when I first reviewed the IOGear 5 Button USB Laser 1600 Mouse as I'm left handed and don't use a mouse very well with my right hand. To my surprise after just a short time I was able to use the mouse to its full capabilities with my left hand. Rather than using my thumb for the side buttons, I just used my little finger.

Since I use Microsoft Office programs very frequently, the Instant-Access button which is located just below the scroll wheel makes working in Office very easy, especially on my laptop. The Instant-Access button makes it easy to Open, Save, Copy, Paste and Print while in the Office applications. It's much easier to use the mouse alone than going back and forth between the mouse and keyboard for those functions.

Another aspect of the IOGear 5 Button USB Laser 1600 Mouse that I really liked and found a nice touch was the length and width of the cord. It's very narrow and since it's so long it's almost like having a wireless mouse for the ease of movement.

As for movement, you don't need a large mouse space to use this mouse. With short, compact movements you can scroll through documents and web pages with ease. You can also move from place to place just as easily. Being able to work efficiently with the mouse in close quarters makes it a great mobile accessory for laptop users.

If you are looking for a mouse that will make working easier while on the road, then this mouse is definitely worth putting on your list of gadgets to get.
