Guide Review - GoodSync Backup and Synchronization Software
Even before downloading and running the GoodSync software, I reviewed the web site to see what information was available and how much information was provided on how to use GoodSync.The User manual can be downloaded from the web site and I do suggest that you download it and read it before installing and trying to run the software. I always find it much easier to use a program when I've read the User manual and the GoodSync User manual is very complete.
The web site also has a well done FAQ section so if something arises after you install the program or you just want additional information before running it, review the FAQ section.
The software itself is very easy to use, while I do regret that it won't work with Macs (perhaps in the future) it was nice to be able to backup and keep files synchronized between different devices. I have a variety of external hard drives that I use for different work projects. Now it is easy to work on my laptop and know that when I work on my desktop, everything will be synchronized. It is much easier than trying to transfer files by disk or even ftp.
I also like that I can work on projects in Vista and have them available when I work in XP. This allows me to make better use of available programs and stay better organized.
GoodSync can be set to automatically backup or synchronize files or you can do either manually. I do like the automatic feature as it means that is one aspect of working safely and protecting my work that I don't have to worry about.
Another nice feature is that while you are running GoodSync you can continue to work with other files or data that isn't currently being backed-up or synchronized.
For any mobile professionals - no matter the industry you are in; using GoodSync is beneficial and will help ensure that your data is safe especially while traveling.
