Guide Review - V12 LCD Bluetooth Headset from BlueAnt
One of the best features of the V12 is that it can be paired with up to 5 different devices. That includes PDAs, laptops and if you happen to use another cell phone (one for work and a personal one) you don't have to change headsets.
Pairing the V12 with my PDA was also quick and painless. I like using my PDA for making notes and voice reminders and with the V12 headset I can just talk normally and not have to move the PDA. It's also handy if you have audio books you want to listen to a or listen to a presentation.
The sound quality both sending and receiving is very good with the V12. It wasn't obvious that I was using a headset and there was no echoing for who I was speaking with or coming from my end. You don't have to raise your voice to be heard, just use your normal talking volume and you'll have no problem being heard. There are volume buttons on the lower side of the headset that are easy to adjust while wearing the V12.
I did mention that the ear piece may be a bit uncomfortable but that can be remedied quite easily. I found a foam cover such as used for ear bud headphones and put that over the ear piece. It doesn't interfere with the sound quality but makes it more comfortable to wear, especially for long periods of time.
To answer a phone call, just press the multi-function button once and you are connected. Your eyes can stay where they should be. If you have the capability with your cell phone to put it on loudspeaker you can attach the headset to the included lanyard so you can see who might be calling you before you decide to answer the call.
