For mobile workers who truly need a portable office, the Empire Builder is your solution. When you have to carry more than just a few files and your laptop, you'll be pleased with what you can pack in this laptop briefcase.

Laptop Space

Using a Brain Cell which securely attaches inside the Empire Builder helps protect your laptop and keeps it from being jostled and bumped. The Brain Cell attachment is very secure and won't come undone on it's own. If you chose not to use a Brain Cell (which I don't suggest doing), your laptop will move around inside the laptop compartment.

The Empire Builder comes with 3 removable file dividers and more can be purchased if required. What makes the removable dividers so nice is simply the fact that you can remove them. There are times when I prefer to carry binders rather than file folders and removing the dividers was quick and easy. There was plenty of room even for large binders such as 4" or 5" thick ones. I liked the fact I had the option of what type of paperwork could be stored or if I didn't need to bring paperwork, other laptop accessories could be packed such as a mobile printer or scanner in this section.

Exterior accessory section & pockets

You won't believe the amount of space and pockets this briefcase has to offer. There are two zippered pockets on the exterior which can be used for paperwork, cell phone or other mobile device. There is also an open top pocket which is great for keeping tickets or small maps in. Open up the flap and you'll find still more room for smaller accessories such as disks, cd's, your PDA and/or cell phone. There is even a snaphook for your keychain. If that isn't enough space, on the other side of the Empire Builder is an outside flat pocket for quick access to files.

Exterior, Handles & Straps

The exterior is constructed of 1050 denier Ballistic nylon and is meant to survive any weather conditions. Strong zippers provide additional protection and add to the durability of this bag. The carrying handles are padded and very comfortable even in my small hands. One thing I liked about the padded handles was even in cold weather they were still very easy to grip and I didn't feel my hand slide with them. If you have a heavy load to carry then adding an optional shoulder strap such as the Absolute Strap is ideal. It won't slip off your shoulder and helps balance the weight load.
