After waiting and deliberating for many months on which Windows 8 laptop to buy next, I finally pulled the trigger on the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T. It has everything I'm looking for in a convertible tablet/laptop: mechanical keyboard dock, full HD resolution, full Windows 8, Intel Core processor, stylus... Its feature set is similar to the Surface Pro, but the Pro 700T is slightly bigger (11.6 inches versus 10.6), has a longer lasting battery (6+ hours versus ~4), and can be used in your lap, thanks to the hardware keyboard dock. At $1200, It costs about $80 more than the Surface Pro with the keyboard cover and $300 less than the starting price of the really attractive ThinkPad Helix (the Helix has an IPS display and extra battery in the keyboard dock, however).
After playing with the Pro 700T for more than a week, I've concluded that it's almost, but very much not quite perfect. Here's my hands-on review of this Surface Pro competitor, and possibly the most capable stylus-enabled Windows 8 tablet on the market so far.
