Getting Around Tethering Restrictions or Blocking

Sprint's recently ended unlimited mobile broadband and now the company is drawing more ire by blocking customers from downloading wireless tethering apps from the Android Market. There is, however, a way around this cruel restriction.

Talk Android notes that if you have a rooted phone, you can sideload the wireless tethering apps directly from their websites.

Wireless carriers' tethering fees--charging $15 a month for example just to use your mobile data plan for your laptop to get online--just seem wrong. It's even more onerous when the carriers actively (try to) block you from doing so.
