Battery Recall from HP

HP has announced a voluntary recall of laptop batteries for HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario, HP Compaq and Compaq Evo laptops manufactured between March 2004 and September 2004.

HP does state that the problem is with the battery only and not the laptop itself so you are safe to use your laptop with A/C power until the replacement battery has arrived.
Please be sure to pass this message to anyone you know using an HP/Compaq brand laptop so they can check to see if it applies to their model.
